              Project Amazon

Project Amazon is a short term mission trip where you can personally become involved in a mission service.  Come and join in the adventure and excitement of serving our Lord and our fellowman in some of the remote areas of this world.

The Amazon is one of those “magical” places where you can actually see the hand of God at work.  It is a place where life changes slowly and values are old, a place where the true needs of the people can be seen in the eyes of the hungry in spirit and body.  You can help us make a difference.

              June 11-27

To build a Home for Missionaries

PROJECT AMAZON 2012 is the acceptance of a challenge to build a Home for Missionaries for Agape Amazonas Foundation in a small town on the Rio Negro.  Those participating in this journey will be flying to Manaus, the capital of the Amazonian state, and then proceed to travel by bus to Novo Airao - the project site.  All participants will be receiving a hammock which will serve as his or her bed for the duration of the trip.

Some participants will be assigned to work with the medical team to assist professionals in the treatment of medical and dental infirmities.  Others will be assigned to teach the children of  Novo Airao about Jesus during the week long VBS.  And all will have the opportunity to help with the construction of a Home for Missionaries under the supervision of skilled carpenters.

Who would enjoy going on Project Amazon?

Project Amazon is for anyone who wants to help others (no skills needed).  Youth younger than 18 are very welcomed but please bring a parent or a responsible adult.  The mission trip is also in need of skilled construction, medical and dental professionals.
