A little history: My name is Kim Hess. I grew up in Santa Rosa, CA. In 1993 I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Brazil that changed my life. While on this mission trip, I grew to love the people and culture of Brazil. The Lord then provided for me to live in Brazil for 14 months. I have been on 3 mission trips led by others - two to Brazil, 1993 & 1994 and one to Costa Rica 1996.
In 1997, the Lord opened the doors for Hans and I to coordinate our own mission trips - Project Amazon. The first one we led together in June of 1998. Hans led the second trip in 1999. The third trip was in 2005 in which I got to lead. The fourth trip Hans and I lead together in 2012. The fifth I got lead in 2015. I praise the Lord for the groups and finances He has provided on each of these trips. These trips could never have happened without His leading, guiding hand. Thank you Heavenly Father!
Currently: I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, an Independent Distributor for Zija International, and a willing maidservant who is very excited about possibly going back to Brazil to help build Medical Missionary Boats in hopefully the near future. At this point I am waiting for God to give the "its time" signal.

A little history: My name is Hans Hess. I grew up in Gronau, Germany. In 1983 I moved to Australia for 15 months. Then in 1985 I moved to the United States.
Kim insisted that we do a mission trip to Brazil and the Lord opened the doors. So we made a pre-trip in 1997 where we met Iris and Gerald Gessner. After much prayer we decided to help them with their new project Fundacao Agape Amazonas (Agape Amazonas Foundation) We built their first building, a Kindergarten, in 1998. In 1999 we built a church, in 2005 the group was smaller led by Kim so they did much needed cement work around our first building and another building built by a different group in 2003. In 2012 we built a Home for Missionaries so people coming down to live for a year and work with the Foundation can have a place to stay of their own. In 2015, Kim, Herb Montgomery and Steve Darmody shared the gift of music and God's great love message with the people of Manaus and Novo Airao.
Currently: I am a Licensed Contractor, Cabinet Maker, and the Sound Coordinator for our church, Pleasant Valley Church.
